About Our Annual Fund Drives to Keep Jazz Playing in Nashville...

JAZZY 88 WFSK, a non-profit FCC licensed radio station is owned and operated by Fisk University.  It has served the greater Nashville area since 1973.

WFSK sustains itself by holding several fundraising drives annually, and through sponsors, grants, foundation funds, and underwriters.

For the first time in 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic, WFSK's 48-Hour Radiothon had to reduced down to two people, the GM & PD in separate studios with all interviews over the phone.  The entire concept of total community participation and high energy was gone.  It was a tough year for WFSK financially.  The pandemic not only caused most of the underwriters and sponsors to table all of their normal business operations, but it impacted donors financially as well.

To add to that, some major technical issues popped up in 2020 at the station.  Leaning on optimism and faith (prayer) things would get better and slowly they have.

We're back in 2021 with what Sharon Kay, WFSK General Manager is calling an  "Indoor/Outdoor" Radiothon according to Sharon Kay, GM.  "I went to my old school playbook and re-inventing what we've always done."

We offer many options to give for Radiothon donors in 2021 among them are:  drive-thru giving area where we'll broadcast live Friday & Saturday (10/1 & 10/2)from 9am to 6pm, online dontae & listen at on this website (www.wfskfm.org) by phone at 615-329-8810 or 615-329-8754 or by mail to: WFSK, 1000 17th Ave. North, Nashville, TN 37208. 24/7/365 or online at connect.fisk.edu/wfskdonation

All donations to WFSK are tax-deductible.
