JAZZY 88 General Manager
Sharon Kay serves as GM at Fisk University’s radio station JAZZY 88 WFSK. When hired in late 2005 by Fisk University, Kay was the first female to serve in that capacity in the station’s history. WFSK (formerly WRFN) signed on the air in 1973.
In 2024 Sharon was Inducted into the Tennessee Hall Of Fame Career Category.
In 2009, she was named Nashville’s Best Radio Station General Manager at the 13th Annual Achievement in Radio Awards, making her the first African American to receive the award.
Ms. Kay is also well known for being host and creator of the popular radio talk show “What’s the 411? with Sharon Kay”, which she began in 2001 on Cumulus Media. The program airs on WFSK Wednesday's from 4pm to 6pm and Sunday's from 7am to 9am and still remains a stable for Nashville listening audience.
Kay’s syndicated program “What’s the 411” has been is part of the African American Public Radio Consortium (AAPRC) satellite programming options available to public, community & HBCU stations. Sharon has been a media professional now for 40-years with stints in radio, television, newspaper, and web-based services.
Sharon, a respected veteran broadcaster is responsible for the station's format, playlists, music selections and programs in all forms of jazz, promotions, station imaging and fundraising. Under her leadership JAZZY 88 has become an award winning widely respected radio station and a Billboard Magazine reporting station, Groove Jazz Music reporting radio station and named as Nashville's Best Jazz Station 2017 by the Nashville Scene Newspaper.

Xuam "The X-Man" Lawson is the station's Program Director and host of the Gospel Program, "Real Gospel" with The Xman. The music and interviews program airs Sundays 9am to 12n. He is licensed to preach in the Baptist church and is ordained as a church Elder in the Church of God in Christ.
He's a veteran radio broadcaster with stints at WQQK 92Q and WQZQ - 102.5 The Party. Lawson produces multiple programs at WFSK and is responsible for selection and gospel music programming for his broadcast and the Sunrise Gospel Program.
