WFSK Does Fun Stuff!!  We're Jazzin' Up the Ville...

Nashville Rib & Jazz Festival in July 2015 was a big Success! 

        JAZZY 88 was on the go this summer season as the station supported and co-sponsored the 1st-Ever Nashville Rib & Jazz Festival.  The West-Virginia-based Chocolate Jazz Foundation's  David Wells, jazz trumpeter heads the non-profit organization who hosted and organized the festival in Music City along with the help of sponsors and friends in the industry he pulled off a real successful event.  WFSK's Sharon Kay and The X-Man served as you MC's for the day while doing double duty in the JAZZY 88 booth.    

     JAZZY 88 listeners really enjoyed the food and great music from such favorites as Denny Jiosa, Annie Sellick, Michael Whitaker and the Lower 40 Band, David Wells, and others.  

      David says "we'll be back in 2016"....tune in for details and lineup information.

in our studios!

    
R&B Legendary singer and songwriter Jeffrey Osborne visits WFSK during an 2013 industry trip to Nashville.    

Osborne has just released a  duet project with another legendary vocalist, Chaka Khan and is featured on the contemporary Jazz saxophonist Euge Groove's latest album.  He was treated to a tour around the campus with Fisk University Ambassadors Shalimar Leggett, Miss Fisk 2012, (2nd-r) and Phillippe Andal, Student Government Association President.
